Ingredients to make Andhra onion chutny

  • 4 onion
  • Jaggry 3 spoon
  • oil 2 spoon
  • 5 curry leaves
  • Whole dry red chilly 4
  • salt
  • mustard seed
  • tamarind pulp 1 big spoon
  • 1 spoon channa dal
  • asafoetida 1 pinch

How to make Andhra onion chutny

  1. Peel the onion and chop.
  2. In a pan heat 1 teaspoon of oil, then add asafoetida and onion. Fry the onion till it changes the colour and turn pink.
  3. Now add salt, jaggery, chillis, tarmarind pulp. Stir for 6-7 minutes.
  4. After the onion become soft, blend all the ingredients in a smooth paste.
  5. In the same pan, add the left oil and heat it. Add mustard seed and curry leaves. When the mustard seeds starts crackling, add onion paste and stir for few seconds. Serve in a bowl.
