ABOUT Kathal masala RECIPE

This is a recipe of a delicious curry made with jack fruits, which can be served with just some rice or roti on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 gm raw Jackfruit cut into cubes
  2. 3 medium oniom sliced
  3. 2 green chillies chopped
  4. 5 to 6 cloves garlic chopped
  5. 1 inch ginger chopped
  6. 1.5 tbsp dried grated coconut
  7. 30 gsm khada masala
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 spring curry leaves
  12. Salt and sugar to taste

Instructions

  1. Dry roast coconut, whole spices and 2 chopped onion till golden. Keep aside and cool. Grind it to fine paste adding little water
  2. Heat oil in pan. Fry the raw Jackfruit. Keep aside
  3. In same oil. Add the curry leaves and mustard seeds. Add in ginger garlic chillies and 1 chopped onion. Saute till golden.
  4. Add turmeric and red chilli powder. Mix well. Add the coconut paste. Cook till oil starts separating.
  5. Now add salt sugar and the fried Jackfruit. Mix well..
  6. Add some water. Cover and cook for 15 to 20 min. Till done.
  7. Serve hot.
