ABOUT Sabudana kichdi RECIPE

A quick and delicious sabudana kichdi cooked with potatoes, peanuts and basic spices creates the most comforting meal out there.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Soaked sabudana 1 cup
  2. Potato 1 large
  3. Chopped green chillies 1 tsp
  4. peanuts 1 tbsp
  5. roasted cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  6. Dried mint leaves 1/2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  8. Crushed red chilli flakes 1/4 - 1/2 tsp
  9. Curry leaves 7 -8 pieces
  10. Mustard seeds 1/4 - 1/2 tsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Assemble all the ingredients
  2. Peel potato and chop it into small bite size pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan,add potatoes saute till they are light brown in colour, add peanuts and saute till peanuts are toasty and potatoes are slightly golden brown.Move them to the side of the pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  4. As mustard seeds start to sputter mix everything together and stir in the spices.
  5. Mix in all the spices.
  6. Stir in soaked sabudana and mix until blended.
  7. Sabudana kichdi is ready.
  8. Enjoy with a cup of hot tea.
