About Sheer khurma Recipe

Sheer khurma is a rich dessert which is made during Ramadan or for Eid . Sheer stands for milk and khurma for dates.

Ingredients to make Sheer khurma

  • milk 4 cup
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup semiyan(vermicelli)
  • 1/2 cup mixed dry fruits (almonds, pistachio, raisins)
  • 1/4 cup dates chopped
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom Powder
  • 1tsp rose water and some rose petals
  • Some saffron strands

How to make Sheer khurma

  1. In a wide bottomed pan, heat ghee and roast the vermicelli in slow flame till it turns into light golden color.
  2. Now add milk to the pan.
  3. When it starts boiling then add sugar. And finely chopped dates and dry fruits.
  4. Cook the vermicelli in slow flame for 15 minutes.
  5. Finally add the cardamon powder, stir and turn off the flame.
  6. Garnish with some chopped dry fruits, saffron strands and rose petals.
