Chakka Pradhaman

Ingredients to make Chakka Pradhaman

  • Jack fruit chopped 2 cups
  • jaggery 1 cup
  • Coconut milk extracted from 2 coconuts
  • coconut pieces 1/4 cup
  • ghee as required

How to make Chakka Pradhaman

  1. Clean the jackfruit and chop them to fine pieces.
  2. Melt the jaggery and strain the impurities. Keep it ready
  3. Fry the coconut pieces in ghee and keep it ready.
  4. Extract the coconut milk from 2 coconuts
  5. Cook the chopped jackfruit with water in cooker to 4 whistles and grind them coarsely.
  6. Transfer the ground mixture to a thick bottomed vessel. Add jaggery to it and mix well and cook for 15 minutes on simmer.
  7. Once the jackfruit is cooked. Add coconut milk and keep stirring.
  8. When it starts to thicken, turn it off and add fried coconut pieces.
  9. Finally add a tsp ghee and serve it hot.

My Tip:

Add hot water while grinding coconut. It will help extract more thickened coconut milk. Cashew can also be added along with coconut pieces. It can also be chilled and served.
