ABOUT Pav Bhaji (Pressure Cooked Version) RECIPE

A meal that is fulll of veggies and still loved by kids is Pav Bhaji. My pressure cooker version is quite easy, quick & yet very tasty... and off course my son's favorite!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 gms capsicum
  2. 6-7 Potatoes
  3. 200 gms cauliflower
  4. 6-7 medium sized tomatoes
  5. 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  6. 2-3 medium sized onions
  7. Green chillies
  8. Garlic cloves
  9. Ginger
  10. Coriander
  11. 2-3 tsp Pav Bhaji masala
  12. 1.5 tsp Kashmiri lal chilli powder
  13. 3/4 cup green peas
  14. Oil & butter
  15. Salt
  16. Sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut capsicum, Potatoes & cauliflower. Pressure cook these vegetables together with little water.
  2. Grind green chillies, garlic and ginger to coarse paste.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp butter in a pan. Add chilli-garlic-ginger paste, saute over low flame for couple of minutes.
  4. Add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, cabbage and peas. Cook until tomatoes become mushy.
  5. Add kashmiri lal chilli powder and pav bhaji masala. Sauté well.
  6. Remove excess water from boiled vegetables and mash them well. Put these vegetables in the pan. Add water to get desired consistency. Add salt, sugar. Mix well and cook for couple of minutes.
  7. Garnish with coriander, top up with butter, serve hot with buttery pav, finely chopped onions and lemon wedges.
