Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 700 - 800 grams chicken cut in pieces
  2. 1 cup beaten yoghurt
  3. 3 to 4 tbsp oil
  4. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  5. half teaspoon turmeric
  6. One teaspoon red chilli powder
  7. half teaspoon pepper powder
  8. Half teaspoon coriander powder
  9. one teaspoon garam masala powder
  10. 1 bay leaf
  11. two cardamoms
  12. 2 cloves
  13. salt to taste
  14. One small cinnamon stick
  15. 3-4 Slit green chillies
  16. 2 to 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  17. 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
  18. One teaspoon lemon juice
  19. For Korma paste
  20. 3 tbsp deep fried onions
  21. 1 tbsp roasted desiccated coconut
  22. 3-4 roasted almonds
  23. 5-6 roasted cashews
  24. 1 tsp lightly roasted chironji
  25. 1 tsp lightly roasted poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. In a grinder, add all the ingredients mentioned under korma paste with little water and grind to form a paste keep it aside
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and saute for few seconds
  3. Add ginger garlic paste , green chillies and saute until raw Aroma goes away
  4. Add Spice powders and salt mix well
  5. Add chicken pieces, mix and saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add ground paste, mix well
  6. Cook on low flame until oil starts appearing at the corners
  7. Add the beaten yoghurt , garam masala powder , Check for the seasoning , mix well. If gravy is too thick, add little water. Cover and cook until chicken is done
  8. Add chopped coriander , mint leaves with lemon juice , mix well , cook for a minute and switch off
  9. Serve hot with Roti or rice
