A lovely dessert when served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 200 grams unsweetened khova
  2. 3 tbsp all purpose flour
  3. pinch baking soda
  4. 1 /2 tesp cardamom powder
  5. 2 cups sugar
  6. 2 Cups water
  7. rose essence few drops
  8. ghee or oil to fry
  9. 1/2 tesp lemon juice
  10. water to knead


  1. Crumble the Khova, to it add all purpose flour and soda.
  2. Add water little at a time and make a soft dough
  3. Make 30 equal sized balls out of the dough,without any cracks
  4. Make a syrup out of the given water and sugar,once the sugar is dissolved let it boil for 10 minutes
  5. To the syrup add lemon juice ,rose essence and cardamom powder
  6. Add ghee in a pan place on medium low heat.
  7. Once lightly hot slide in a few jamun balls.
  8. After a few seconds stir by rolling the jamuns, repeat this till it's golden brown
  9. Remove and transfer them to the hot sugar syrup.
  10. Let soak till the second batch is ready
  11. Transfer the first batch to a bowl adding some syrup to it
  12. Repeat this till the entire rolled Jamun are fried .
  13. Pour the entire syrup to the bowl ,leave to soak for an hour.
  14. Gulab jamuns are ready to serve,tastes great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
