ABOUT Lauki halwa RECIPE

Lauki or bottlegourd halva is one of the very loved desserts on Eid.Also during Ramadan a dessert made for Iftaar.Its rich though healthy and yet light.Made in milk seasoned with cashewz,ghee,cardomom and raisins.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. one and half kg bottle gourd
  2. 1 cup sugar/125 grams
  3. 2 cups Milk
  4. some cardamom seeds
  5. some cashews
  6. 1 tablespoon pure ghee
  7. Some Raisins

Instructions

  1. Wash peel and cut big portions of bottle gourd
  2. Keep ingredients,sugar, cashews,raisins,cardamom seeds ready
  3. Grate bottle gourd now and wash and strain water
  4. put a pot to heat,and add grated bottle gourd
  5. Add sugar now
  6. Add milk after it softens
  7. check as it tenderizes
  8. now add cardamom seeds and small cut cashews
  9. Add ghee and raisins roast well
  10. As it's turning slightly brown out off flame
  11. Remove in bowl serve garnished with cashews
