ABOUT Kshirkhurma RECIPE

A rich Milk preparation sweetened n enriched with dry fruits nd aroma of saffron nd garnished with charoli served on the very auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr as Ramadan karim Ends.Though simple to do it needs blessings for its taste.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Dry fruits --
  2. 250gms almonds
  3. 250gms unsalted pistachios
  4. 150gms raisins
  5. 250 gms dried apricot
  6. 200gms Dried dates
  7. 100gms Charoli
  8. 100gm Roasted fine vermicelli/seviyan
  9. 10gms saffron threads
  10. 5 litres Milk ( creamy milk)
  11. 250 gms sugar


  1. Bring Milk to one boil and let it cool.
  2. Prepare dry fruits- Almonds and pistachios soak one day befre and peel skin cut finely, keep aside to dry a little.
  3. Now cut other dry fruits after a good wash, chop apricots and dried dates into halves.
  4. Blanch charoli i.e. put in boiling hot water for a min then put in cold water it leaves skin easily.
  5. Wen all dry fruits are ready to use put milk on gas, again let it start boiling, now add sugar stir well.
  6. To this add the soaked Saffron or saffron threads as it is if missed soaking earlier.
  7. Now the dried dates or kharak as u call it, the Almonds Pistachio as these take time to get done.
  8. After ten min add roasted vermicelli and raisins keep stirring till you feel these are soft, lastly add charoli and the Apricots chopped into halves give one last boil and put off gas .
  9. Serve after it cools or refrigerate.
  10. For Eid its had just before going for Eid Namaz early morning ,so prepared the previous night.

Recipe nt correct for shirkurma we have to fry our dry fruits in ghee and is added with ghee into milk...... I follow u sana n love all ur recipes
