About garlic murukku Recipe

garlic murukku is one of my childhood favorite snack. this is made using rice flour and gram flour with garlic flavour.

Ingredients to make garlic murukku

  • 1 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup besan/gram flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 6 garlic pearls
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed
  • oil to deep fry

How to make garlic murukku

  1. soak garlic and red chillies in warm water for 20 minutes, then grind it to a smooth paste. keep aside.
  2. in a bowl, add flour, besan, prepared garlic paste, butter, sesame seeds and salt. mix well.
  3. now add water little by little and prepare a smooth dough
  4. take the star mould and keep in the chakli maker
  5. grease the chakli maker with oil
  6. fill the chakli maker with dough and press the machine to make spiral shaped chaklis
  7. heat oil in a kadai
  8. when it gets heated, reduce the flame to low
  9. drop 3-4 chaklis in hot oil and cook both the sides on low-medium flame until crispy and golden
  10. remove in a tissue paper
  11. serve or store in air tight container
