Serves as a superb side dish and a starter

Prawn Fry

Ingredients to make Prawn Fry

  • 500 grams prawn cleaned and deveined
  • 2 medium onion finelly chopped.
  • 2 medium tomatoes chopped finely
  • few curry leaves
  • 1/2 tesp mustard
  • 1 1/2 tesp ginger garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 /2 tesp turmeric powder
  • salt as per taste
  • 2 to 3 tesp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup water

How to make Prawn Fry

  1. In a kadai add oil and place on medium flame
  2. Add mustard and wait for it to splutter
  3. Drop a few curry leaves ,add in the onions and ginger garlic paste.
  4. Saute well till light brown
  5. Add tomatoes and saute to combine well
  6. Add salt,turmeric and chilli powder,continuing sauting,
  7. Add water and let cook till thick
  8. Now add the prawns and deep fry till it turns brown in colour.
  9. Prawn fry is ready to eat with hot rasam or sambar rice.

My Tip:

If you want it spicy add more chilli powder.
