ABOUT Drumstick Potato Curry RECIPE

This is a simple curry made with drumsticks and potatoes. This dish can be had with rice since it is not dry curry.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potatoes 2 (medium sized)
  2. Drumsticks 2
  3. Onion 1 (chopped finely)
  4. Tomatoes 2 (chopped finely)
  5. Garlic 6 cloves crushed
  6. Oil 3 tsp
  7. Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  8. Fennel seeds or Sombu  1 tsp
  9. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  10. Jeera powder 1 tsp
  11. Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  12. Salt as needed or 1 tsp


  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add fennel seeds.
  2. When it becomes slight brown add chopped onions and crushed garlic and fry till the onions turn light brown.
  3. Now add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and jeera powder.
  4. Fry till the tomatoes turn soft.
  5. Now add the chopped drumsticks and potatoes and fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Then add a cup of water and let this cook on medium flame till the drumsticks and potatoes turn soft.
  7. Remove and serve hot with rice.

Hello Hema ! went through ur recipe, want to know whether the drumsticks should be scraped or peeledlike potatoes Secondly what type of drumsticks should be chosen- very thin nd soft /too thick and hard
