ABOUT Mango Raw Banana Vada RECIPE

Mango Raw banana vada is one of the easy vada to prepare. The sourness of mango enhance the taste of this vada. Raw banana vada is also called as "Aratikaya vada" in Andhra. I have added grated sour mango to this.This raw banana vada is yummy and kids will love it.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 3 faced raw bananas - 2
  2. Sour green mango - 1
  3. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  4. Gram flour - 3/4 cup
  5. Rice flour - 3/4 cup
  6. Salt - to taste
  7. Ingredients to Crush
  8. Shallots - 1 cup
  9. Garlic - 5 pods
  10. Ginger - 1 inch piece
  11. Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
  12. Green chillies - 8 nos(if you want more spicy add more)
  13. Crush the above ingredients and keep aside.

Instructions

  1. Steam boil the raw banana with the skin till tender.
  2. When cooled, peel the skin and mash well.
  3. Add the finely grated mangoes, rice flour, gram flour,cumin seeds, salt and crushed shallots and make a thick dough.(no need to add water, moisture of bananas and grated mangoes is enough. If needed just sprinkle very little).
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Grease your hands with oil and make vadas. Gently drop the vadas into the hot oil and fry it till golden colour.
  5. Drain it in a colander. Mango raw banana vadas are ready to serve.
  6. Serve hot with tomato sauce or with chutney.
