Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 medium ripe tomatoes
  2. I tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  3. Lemon sized tamarind
  4. 5 garlic pieces
  5. 3 red chilli
  6. 2 tesp whole black pepoer
  7. 2 1/2 tesp cumin seeds
  8. 1/4 tesp asafodita
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1/4 tesp turmeric powder
  11. 1/4 tesp mustard seeds
  12. I tesp oil
  13. 1 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Soak tamarind in half a cup of warm water, extract juice and keep aside.
  2. In a mix jar add tomatoes,pepper,cumin any garlicgrind to a coarse paste
  3. Add the ground paste to the tamarind juice,rince the jar with a cup of water and add it to the bowl
  4. To this add slit red chilli, coriander leaves,curry leaves ,turmeric powder and salt. Mix well
  5. Place kadai on medium heat add oil
  6. Add mustard wait to splutter,now add asafodita,and pour in the rasam mixture
  7. When it starts to boil ,off the flame
  8. Serve with steamed rice and papad,or any veg or non veg side dish.You can have a cup of hot rasam anytime it helps in digestion.
