It is a very quick and tasty rasam, which is famous in Pondicherry

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Thick Coconut Milk (1 st Coconut Milk ) - 1/3 cup
  2. Semi Thin Coconut Milk(2nd Coconut Milk) - 1/2 Cup
  3. Thin Coconut Milk (3 rd Coconut Milk ) - 1/2 Cup
  4. Tamarind Extract -1/4 Cup
  5. Salt -to taste
  6. Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  7. TO TEMPER :
  8. Coconut Oil - 1 Tsp
  9. Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  10. Hing -1/8 tsp
  11. Dry red chillies -2
  12. Curry leaves -1 sprig

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a vessel, temper the ingredients given under, add semi thin and thin coconut milk, tamarind extract, salt,turmeric powder .Bring to boil until the raw smell of tamarind goes away.
  2. Then add the 1 st coconut milk,switch off the flame immediately. Serve hot with Rice and any choice of your curry !!
