ABOUT Dadhiyonnam / Temple Style Curd Rice RECIPE

Dadhiyonnam is curd rice,prepared as a prasadam in temple.Its a simple and tasty rice prepared with rice,curd and milk.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw Rice -1 cup
  2. Water -3 Cups
  3. Milk -1 cup (Boiled& cooled )
  4. Curd - 1 Cup
  5. Salt -To taste
  6. Butter -3 tbsp
  7. To Temper :
  8. Oil -2 tbsp
  9. Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  10. Urad Dal -1 tsp
  11. Hing -1/4 tsp
  12. Ginger -2 tsp (finely chopped)
  13. Red chilli - 2(pinched it)
  14. Green chillies - 3 (finely chopped)
  15. Curry leaves -2 sprig
  16. Coriander leaves -3 tbsp (finely chopped )

Instructions

  1. *Wash the rice and pressure cook with 3 cups water upto 5 whistles.Once the Pressure settled down ,mash the rice with salt,butter and milk .
  2. Once the rice is completely cool down add the tempering ingredients given under"To Temper" & Curd.
  3. Mix well and Serve it !!
