About Shrikand Recipe

Shrikand is an Indian sweet dish made of strained curd/yogurt. This dessert can be eaten plain or goes good along with poori's. This is also a healthy dessert and i often make this specially for my baby .


Ingredients to make Shrikand

  • curd 500 gm or 2 cups
  • Powdered sugar 1 1/2 cups
  • saffron Strands few
  • cardamom Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Milk 1 tbsp
  • Dry fruits

How to make Shrikand

  1. Put curd in a strainer and keep bowl below or in a muslin cloth and hung for minimum one hour.
  2. You will notice that thick curd is formed and water is collected at the bottom.
  3. Add the hung curd into a mixing bowl.
  4. with the help of whisker keep whisking for few minutes till it turns smooth and creamy.
  5. Add powdered sugar and whisk again.
  6. Dissolve few saffron strands in a warm milk and add it to the shrikand and mix well.
  7. At the end add cardamom powder and mix again. Also add any dry fruits of your choice.
  8. Shrikand is ready to serve plain or along with poori.
