ABOUT Dahi Chura(chiwda) RECIPE

Dahi chura is made and eaten on Sankranti day in UP and Bihar. It is considered auspicious to eat dahi chura on that day. Very simple yet healthy breakfast.No cooking is required.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Fresh Curd 2 cups
  2. Chiwda 1 cup
  3. Fresh fruits -- apple,banana, chopped small
  4. Pomegranate seeds 1 tbsp
  5. Mixed nuts 1/2 cup
  6. Jaggery and honey 1 tbsp each
  7. salt 1/4 tsp
  8. For tadka. Oil 1 tsp mustard seeds and red dry chilli 4.
  9. Ghee 2 tsp
  10. Milk 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Beat the curd with jaggery and honey.
  2. Add soaked chiwda in 1 tbsp of milk for 5 minutes .Soak dry fruits for 15 minutes. Chop them and fry in 1 tsp ghee.
  3. Add chiwda in Curd.Add fresh chopped fruits,nuts and salt. Mix .
  4. Heat 1 tsp ghee and add red chillies and mustard seeds fry and pour over it.
  5. Drizzle 1 tsp honey over dahi chura.
  6. Serve and have it too.
