Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Green gram Sprouts - 1 cup
  2. Onion - 1 small, finelly chopped
  3. Tomato - 1 large, pureed
  4. Tamarind - gooseberry sized, made into juice
  5. Chopped and Crushed Ginger - 1 Teapsoon
  6. Chopped and Crushed Garlic - 1 Teaspoon
  7. Green Chillies - 2 small
  8. Curry leaves - handful
  9. Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  10. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  11. Pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Fenugreek - 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  15. Gingelly Oil - 2 Tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan. Add 1 tablespoon of gingely oil.
  2. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and fenugreek seeds. Let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped and crushed ginger and garlic. Saute till the raw smell goes off.
  4. Add onions, green chillies and saute till they become transparent.
  5. Add chilli powder and coriander powder. Saute till the raw smell goes off.
  6. Add tomato puree and tamarind sauce. Mix well.
  7. Once it gets cooked and oil starts separating, add sprouts.
  8. Add salt and cook it covered. it will take 10 to 15 minutes.
  9. Now, heat a small pan and add remaining gingely oil.
  10. Add pepper powder. Add this to the cooked gravy.
  11. Give a good mix and switch off the flame. Very tasty gravy is done with simple steps.
