ABOUT Dahi Vada RECIPE

Dahi vada is a popular north indian snack, this tasty snack consist of fried urad dal dumplings dunked in a creamy whipped yogurt topped with spicy and sweet chutneys. Dahi vadas are a craze at home.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/4 kg urad dal
  2. 250 gms yoghurt
  3. 1/2 tsp jeera
  4. 1/2 tsp soda
  5. 1 green chilly
  6. 2 tbsp sugar
  7. 2-3 tbsp imli sweet chutney
  8. Salt
  9. red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. jeera [cumin] powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. chaat masala - 1/4 th tsp
  12. coriander leaves [handful]

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal fr 5-6 hrs. Grind with green chilly & salt.
  2. To batter add little jeera, pinch of hing & soda.
  3. Heat oil drop small balls & fry till done. Take lukewarm water in a separate vessel add salt & 1 tbsp sugar. Mix well.
  4. Drop fried vadas in water soak fr few minutes & squeeze out water.
  5. Whisk curd with sugar & salt. Put vadas in a bowl & pour curd mixture. Garnish with sweet imli chutney, red chilly pwdr, jeera pwdr, chaat masala & corriander leaves
