ABOUT Pineapple Kesari RECIPE

A famous Andhra dish , tangy pineapple in sweet kesari is the best thing you can make today. Kesari originally is a very sweet and dense dish, but the addition of pineapple gives it a very fresh and uplifting taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fresh finely diced pineapple - 100 gms
  2. water - 360 ml
  3. sugar - 130 gms
  4. Rava/ semolina - 115 gms
  5. cashews - 12-15 nos
  6. ghee - 90 gms
  7. saffron strands for garnish (optional) - 2-3


  1. In a pan combine water, sugar and pineapple and put it on a medium flame and let the mixture come to boil till you see little froth on the surface.
  2. In the meanwhile take another pan and heat the ghee. Once the ghee is hot, add rava and fry till golden brown and add cashews at this point and let them brown. Make sure you stir the mixture continously to avoid burning.
  3. Now add the pineapple mixture to the rava slowly and carefully as it will sizzle. Lower the flame and cook till all the water is absorbed.
  4. Serve hot and garnish saffron strands.
