These Murukkus are really a melt in the mouth dish.

Butter Murruku

Ingredients to make Butter Murruku

  • rice powder – 1 glass
  • Chutney dal powder- ½ glass
  • Yellow Moong dal – 1 tbsp
  • Butter /sunflower dalda - 2 tbsp
  • salt – 1 tsp
  • oil for frying

How to make Butter Murruku

  1. Dry roast the Yellow Moong Dal to light brown colour. Then allow it to cool and grind to a fine powder. Mix rice powder, Chutney Dal powder, Moong dal powder and salt.
  2. Add the Butter which is kept in the room temperature OR if using Dalda then - Heat the sunflower dalda and add to the mixture.
  3. Mix well to crumbs. Now add water and make a soft Dough. Put the dough in the Muruku sieve. Keep oil for frying. Now fry in oil the Murukku. Keep the flame on Medium heat. Remove when light Golden brown.
  4. Crispy Butter Murukku is ready.
