Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Semiya/vermicelli 1 cup
  2. Chilled curd 3/4 cup
  3. Milk 1/4 cup
  4. Cashews 15
  5. Water 2 cups
  6. Grated carrot 3 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. For tempering ::
  9. Green chilli 4 finely chopped
  10. Oil 3 tbsp + 1 tbsp for frying cashews
  11. Curry leaves 1 small sprig
  12. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  13. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  14. Urad dal 1 tsp
  15. Channa dal 1 tsp


  1. Dry roast vermicelli till slightly golden.Set aside.Get ready with other ingredients.
  2. Boil water. then add roasted vermicelli.Let it cook for few mins.
  3. Cook until semiya becomes soft.Drain water and set aside to cool down completely.Fluff it with a fork when it is still warm else it will become very sticky.
  4. Heat oil in a tadka pan , fry cashews till golden brown,Set aside.
  5. Heat oil in the same pan and add the ingredients listed under 'for tempering', let it splutter, switch off.
  6. In a wide mixing take cooked semiya, add curd,milk, along with required salt.Mix well.
  7. Add fried cashews and grated carrot and mix well
  8. Curd Semiya is ready to serve
