ABOUT Steamed Mango Yogurt/ Aam Bhapa Doi RECIPE

Bhapa Doi is a Bengali traditional steamed sweetened yogurt dessert. Steamed Mango Yogurt is just the same of Bengali bhapa doi flavoured with mango. A fusion twist to the traditional bhapa doi. It is easy to prepare with minimal ingredients. It is a luscious ,creamy, mouth watering and delicious dessert. The fresh mango flavour in it makes it more irresistible. Try this before the mango season goes off and I am sure you would fall in love with it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup hung Curd/Yogurt
  2. 1/2 cup Mango Puree
  3. 1/4 cup Sugar
  4. 1/2 cup Milk
  5. 3 tbsp Condensed Milk
  6. Water for steamer
  7. Chopped Mangoes, black grapes and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender add the curd, mango puree, sugar, milk ,condensed milk and blend it until smooth and everything is blended well together.
  2. Take a spring form pan and carefully pour the mixture over it and spread the mixture evenly. 
  3. Gently tap the pan 2-3 times to spread the mixture evenly and to release any air bubbles in the mixture. Cover the pan with an aluminium foil.
  4. Take a steaming pot and add water and bring to boil. Once the water comes to a boil gently place the pan into the steamer and and steam for 20-25 mins or until it is set.
  5. Remove the pan from the steamer and let it cool down. Once cool down refrigerate for atleast 1 hour.
  6. Garnish as per your likings and serve chilled.
