ABOUT Dahi Gola rolls RECIPE

Traditional Gola rotis with an interesting twist to attract Kids . To seek Children ‘s attention , to add interest towards food , now and then twists or decorations on our heirloom recipes are the need of the hour. Unavoidable. The actual recipe calls for Maida which I have replaced with wheat for health reasons .

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup sat 150ml cup
  2. Semolina 1/2 cup
  3. Fresh yogurt 1/2 cup
  4. Buttermilk to adjust batter consistency .
  5. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  6. onion medium 1 finely chopped
  7. Curry leaves 6 finely chopped
  8. Chillies chopped ( optional for kids )
  9. Large egg 1
  10. Ghee 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Take wheat flour in a bowl .
  2. Add salt .
  3. Add semolina .
  4. Pour egg mixture to the flour .
  5. Add yogurt .
  6. Add onions , chillies and curry leaves .
  7. Mix all together with a spatula .
  8. Pour in buttermilk to adjust consistency of the batter The batter should be loose but not runny .
  9. Heat a griddle .
  10. Pour 1 ladle full batter on the hot griddle .
  11. Spread immediately to a thin cheela .
  12. Smear ghee .
  13. Fry both the sides till brown spots appear .
  14. The edges should turn crispy but shouldn’t harden up .
  15. Remove from the heat .
  16. Cut the cheela into two equal portions .
  17. Roll them into thin rolls and place the seam side down .
  18. Likewise prepare rest of the chelas using the remaining batter . Cut them into two , fold them into rolls .
  19. Children find these rolls interesting . Easy , healthy finger finger food as well
