Buttermilk adds a new dimension to puris.They become really delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Gram flour or beasan 1/2 flour
  3. Rice flour 1/4 Cup
  4. Thick buttermilk 1 cup
  5. Roasted jeera 1 tsp
  6. Black peppercorns 1/2 tsp
  7. Salt 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander chopped 2 tbsp
  9. Asfoetida 1 pinch
  10. oil 2 tbsp
  11. Oil for deep frying as required

Instructions

  1. Place all flours in a large bowl.Add peppercorns ,jeera powder,salt and oil.
  2. Add chopped coriander .
  3. Add buttermilk and knead into a stiff dough.
  4. Cover it and keep for one hour.
  5. Knead it again.Make small balls out of dough.
  6. Roll out into small puris.
  7. Heat oil in a kadhai.Deep fry one or two puris at a time on medium heat.
  8. Drain and serve with potato sabji or dahi or chole.
