ABOUT Gosht Khurma RECIPE

The name is such as the ingredients used are Curds,Cashew,thick cream,poppy seeds and green paste of onion chillies and corriander.Dry spices used only pepper and garam masala done at home .Ideally a festive dish served with baked Naan or Shirmaal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 kg Mutton(goat meat raan pieces)
  2. 500 grams curds
  3. 3tblspn ginger garlic paste
  4. 1 cup cream
  5. 1 cup cashew
  6. 1 tblspn poppy seeds
  7. 4 onions paste
  8. 1 small bunch corriander
  9. 2-3 green chillies
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1 tblspn garam masaala
  12. 1tspn Pepper
  13. 3-4 tblspn oil

Instructions

  1. Clean wash mutton
  2. Keep onions peeled whole cloves star anise,cashew etc handy
  3. Keep all ingredients ready to use
  4. Peel onions cut quarters,coriander and green chillies to be cut and added to blend
  5. Make the green paste keep aside
  6. Cook the poolmutton with ginger garlic paste and salt in pressure cooker for 15-20 minutes
  7. Now take a pot heat oil,and add the green paste made to saute on slow flame
  8. Add to this cashew and poppy seed/khuskhush paste and beaten curds mix well
  9. Add some salt pepper and garam masala here to this green paste
  10. Cook ten minutes Stirring
  11. Now add cooked mutton in this cashew onion paste stir well
  12. Cook 5 to 7 minutes on fast flame put off gas now
  13. Let it come to normal temparature and pour out in a dish to serve
  14. Add cream after it cools a little optional though
