Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For marinating: 1kg mutton pieces
  2. 4-5 big onions sliced
  3. 1 big tomato chopped
  4. 2tbs ginger garlic paste
  5. 3-4 green chillies
  6. 2 Bay Leaves
  7. 2tsp Coriander powder
  8. 1n1/2tsp cumin powder
  9. 2tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  11. 2tsp meat masala
  12. 2tsp mustard oil
  13. 2tsp Salt
  14. Other ingredients: 1tsp garam masala
  15. 2-3tbs mustard oil
  16. Handful of fresh coriander leaves
  17. Water as required.


  1. Marinate the mutton pieces with all the spices mentioned under marination for 8-10hours or overnight.
  2. Heat mustard oil, add the marinated mutton pieces and fry for 10-12mins or until mutton pieces looks fried and oil starts separating.
  3. Heat a pressure cooker, add 2tsp oil,add the fried mutton pieces with 1-2cups of hot water, add garam masala powder and cook for good 8-10 whistles or 15-20mins or until mutton is tender.
  4. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
