Kobichya Vadya (Cabbage Fritters)

Ingredients to make Kobichya Vadya (Cabbage Fritters)

  • 2 cups finely chopped cabbage (sliced)
  • 3/4 cup gram flour (Besan)
  • 1/2 cup Thalipeeth Bhajani
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Red Chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp tamarind/imli chutney
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1-2 tbsp coarsely ground peanuts
  • 1 tsp green chili paste (if desired)
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 cup water (approximately)
  • salt to taste

How to make Kobichya Vadya (Cabbage Fritters)

  1. Preheat oven to 400 Deg F (200deg C).
  2. Mix all the above ingredients to make thick batter. Marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Grease a cake tin with oil an spread batter evenly. Sprinkle sesame seeds.
  4. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or till tooth pick comes out clean. Remove from oven and transfer to a rack. Cool and cut in desired shapes.
  5. Heat nonstick pan with oil. Shallow fry both sides till light golden brown.
