we all know about batata Vada...but here it is like batata Vada but the outer crust is of urad dal and rice

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. urad dal 1 cup
  2. rice 1 cup
  3. onion 2 chopped
  4. coriander leaves chopped
  5. chopped green chilli
  6. potatoes 4 boiled and mashed
  7. ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  8. turmeric powder 1 tsp
  9. red chilli powder 1 tsp
  10. salt as per taste
  11. zeera 1/2 tsp
  12. curry powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. soak urad dal and rice for 5-6 hours
  2. wash and grind it to a fine paste
  3. take a pan and heat oil..crackle some zeera and sauté 1 chopped onion till slightly golden
  4. add ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell goes completely
  5. add salt,turmeric powder,red chilli powder and curry powder
  6. add boiled and mashed potatoes and mix everything well
  7. add coriander leaves and keep aside
  8. make small balls out of it
  9. add chopped onion,chopped coriander and chopped green chilli and salt to the urad dal paste
  10. take small amount of batter and place a potato ball and cover it from all sides
  11. deep fry the balls
  12. when half fried take them out and press it gently with a glass
  13. again fry it till crispy and golden in colour
  14. serve with sauce or chutney
