About Ram laddu Recipe

A very famous delhi street food.....ram laddu made from yellow moong dal.

Ram laddu

Ingredients to make Ram laddu

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal.
  • 1/3 cup chana dal.
  • 1 ts chopped green chillies.
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger.
  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves.
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
  • 1 /2 tsp amchur powder.
  • Pinch of asafoetida.
  • salt to taste.
  • 1 tsp Fruit salt (optional).
  • Garnish : green ( coriander) chutney.
  • khajur imli chutney or tomato sauce.
  • Grated raddish.

How to make Ram laddu

  1. Thoroughly wash the dals.
  2. Soak them in hot water for about 1.5 hours.
  3. Meanwhile keep ready the other ingredients.
  4. After almost 1.5 hours strain the water.
  5. In a blender make a smooth paste of the dals.
  6. Make sure you don't add much water.
  7. Meanwhile heat the oil for deep frying.
  8. Now mix together all the ingredients.
  9. Add the fruit salt (optional) just before frying.
  10. Make small balls and fry them on medium flame.
  11. When slightly changes the colour remove them.
  12. Serve with green Chutney and tomato sauce or khajur imli chutney.
  13. Garnish with grated raddish and freshly chopped coriander leaves.
