ABOUT Chocolate Burfi- Easiest way out in Microwave RECIPE

My love for sweets is endless.I love the taste of sweet in any form(might be sweet talk, sweet people :P ) chocolates , caramel , sweets or absolutely anything..at times even satisfy sweet tooth with just a spoon full of sugar or a bite of jaggery ...  So inorder to calm down my cravings i keep trying to replicate almost all the desserts available around the Globe ..hmm..big word  :) :) For now i am presenting my recent attempt of making Chocolate Burfi..its dual layered treat that has a milk creamy layer at the bottom and chocolaty rich layer at the top ... As a kid I observed guests bringing home a mixed sweet box for sweet stores that had almost all the types ,their store sold / made and this was one amongst the mostly ignored sweet by many , i was one amongst them too.. But i really donno why i neglected this beauty as its so so flavorful , rich , combo of milk n chocolate is phenomenal...love this beauty...from now on a definite yes to this one as well !!!!

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 1/2 cups or 195 gms Non fat dry milk powder
  2. 250 ml full fat whipping cream
  3. 1 1/4 cups  or 150 gms powdered sugar
  4. 1/4 cup Chocolate chips
  5. 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Grease and line a tray with parchment paper and keep aside until use. Sift the milk powder , powdered sugar together and set aside.
  2. In a microwave safe dish take the sifted milk powder and powdered sugar  and add the cream and mix really good until well incorporated.
  3. Now place this in microwave n cook on high ( my microwave is 800 watts ) for a minute. Take it out , stir and place it back  in microwave and cook.
  4. Mine took almost 4 minutes to get the texture i.e..kind of grainy, semi dry and non sticky. Now divide this into two halves and spread one portion of it on the lined tray as evenly as possible, levelling with a off set spatula or with the back of a spoon / spatula..and set aside until next layer gets done...
  5. In the second half of the mix add the cocoa powder and chocolate chips .. stir on microwave on high for 30 secs... Take it out , stir and microwave again for a minute...repeat it one more time. After 2 and a half mins the mixture turns out to be semi dry and non sticky.
  6. Now give it a good stir and spread on the white layer as evenly as possible and press slightly.
  7. Let this cool and set for at least 2 hours at room temperature.. Once set , take it out holding the edges of parchment n trim out the rough edges of the block. Lastly Cut them into desired shapes using a knife or pizza cutter like me and store them in an airtight container.
  8. The Yumm Yumm Chocolaty Milky dessert is ready to gallop in no time ...using milk powder and microwave made it so much easier and absolutely effortless..

Did you use unsweetened or semi-sweet chocolate chips?
