ABOUT Dahi Bhalle RECIPE

Dahi bhalla is loved by people who are fond of chat. They are made up of  urad dal and few spices which add taste to your tongue. It is specially made on the occasion of Holi and Diwali.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Urad dal - 2 cups(soaked overnight)
  2. Green coriander - 3 to 4 tbsp(chopped)
  3. Ginger - 1 inch piece(grated
  4. Raisins ( for filling the bhallas and garnishing)
  5. Salt - as per taste Oil for frying
  6. Imli ki chutney - 200 grams tamarind (soaked in water overnight)
  7. 1 Cup Sugar or jaggery(gud)Salt,pepper powder,Cumin powder and black salt as per taste (mix it all together)

Instructions

  1. Method- For Bhallas take the soaked daal and grind it in a mixie jar , add water if required(do not add too much of water).
  2. Add salt,grated ginger and 2 tbsp green coriander in it. Now mix it well.
  3. Take a wok add oil.Take the batter in your palm and make small balls with it balls should be of medium size not too big not too small. 
  4. Take these balls on your palm and fill them with 2..3 raisins and fry them at medium flame till they turn golden brown in color.
  5. Now take a bowl filled with water and soak the fried bhalla in the water.
  6. Squeeze the bhallas and start plating as per your preference pour curd over it, imli chutney, sprinkle normal salt,and the mixed masala  over it and garnish it with coriander leaves and raisins
  7. For Imli chutney - Take a pan add imli with water which was soaked overnight.Then wait for 1 boil
  8. Now strain the pulp and store the imli water. Take a pan add the imli water in it add sugar and stir it well .Add black salt,red chilli powder,pepper powder,Cumin powder(or you can take the mixed masala which we have used in Dahi bhallas.
  9. Stir the imli paste till it gets thick( one string )Now add raisins in it and switch off the flame.
  10. Your dahi bhallas are ready to serve. Enjoy!

Hi. I generally use dates with no sugar at all with the imli. taste fantastic. and good for diabetics. I also add a pinch of soda to the daal so that they become softer. Try it.
