ABOUT Jeera Onion Rice RECIPE

Jeera onion rice is a simple and tasty rice variety. We can do this very quickly and impress our family and guest.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basmati rice -1 cup
  2. Cumin seeds - 2 teaspoon
  3. Onion large - 2 (finely sliced)
  4. Green chili -1(chopped)
  5. Ghee - 1 Tablespoon + 1 tsp
  6. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean and soak rice for 20 to 30 minutes. Drain excess water. Keep it aside
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and splutter cumin seeds.
  3. Add chopped green chilies and fry for a minute.
  4. Add rice and roast for one minute.
  5. Add 2 cups water and salt .Mix well and bring to boil
  6. Cover and cook over low heat until water is absorbed and rice is done
  7. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan. Fry the onions until brown
  8. Add the fried onions to rice. Serve hot with raita
