ABOUT Chicken Stromboli RECIPE

Bread stuffed with shredded chicken ,pizza sauce and cheese.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Dough
  2. 3 1/2 cup all purpose flour.
  3. 1 1/4 ,tesp salt
  4. 1 tesp sugar
  5. 1 1/2 tesp yeast.
  6. 4 tbsp Butter
  7. 1 cup warm water
  8. Filling
  9. 1 1/2 cup cooked chicken shredded
  10. 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  11. 3 /4cup grated cheddar or Parmesan cheese
  12. 2 tesp dry basil leaves
  13. Topping: 1 beaten egg and grated cheese.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add add yeast,sugar and warm water,let set for 5 minutes.
  2. To this add all purpose flour,salt and butter.
  3. Knead for 10 minutes to a soft dough.
  4. Coat the dough with oil and place on a oiled bowl,covered with cling wrap.
  5. Let it double in size.
  6. Punch and remove the dough.
  7. Place on a floured surface and roll to a rectangle 10"×14".
  8. Add a little of the grated cheese in a row in the center.
  9. Combine chicken and pizza sauce.Spread over the cheese.
  10. Add grated cheese on top,sprinkle dry basil leaves.
  11. Fold the dough over the filling ,sealing the edges on all sides.
  12. Place it on a lined sheet with seam facing down.
  13. Preheat oven 180℃ for 10 minutes.
  14. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle cheese,lightly slice on top.
  15. Bake at 170℃ for 30 minutes.
  16. Remove let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
