ABOUT Hunan Okra RECIPE

Hunan Cuisine , one of the styles of Chinese is spicy and yummy . Normally, We love enjoying Hunan Chicken . Had few okras .in the fridge . Suddenly thought of giving a Hunan try on this vegetable . Tha Tha thaan .. Hunan Okras ready . The taste was awesome . Enjoy this Hunan Okras in this pleasant monsoon . You will just love it .

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Okras 1/2 kg smaller sized ( Head and tail discarded )
  2. Olive oil 5 tablespoons
  3. Onion 1 big thinly sliced
  4. Freshly ground red chilli paste 1/4 cup
  5. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Garlic finely chopped 7
  7. Ginger finely chopped 1.5 teaspoons
  8. Red capsicum small 1 cut into strips
  9. Salt as preferred
  10. Red chilli sauce 2 tablespoons
  11. Soy sauce 1 tablespoon
  12. White pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Spring onions 1/4 cup finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Firstly , heat olive oil in a pan .
  2. Fry the okras until crunchy . Transfer to a plate .
  3. In the same pan , sauté chopped ginger and chopped garlic .
  4. Add the thinly sliced onions . Sauté until glossy .
  5. Add the capsicum . Stir fry .
  6. Add the red chilli paste . Soak red chillies in warm water for 15 minutes . Grind to a smooth paste and use that paste .
  7. Add red chilli powder. Sauté till raw smell leaves.
  8. Add salt .
  9. Add the sauces . Sauté .
  10. Add the fried okras . Toss quickly till masala coats okra .
  11. Sprinkle white pepper powder .
  12. Add finely chopped spring onions . Toss . Switch off .
  13. Hunan Okras are ready .
