ABOUT Mini Badusha RECIPE

Soft and yummy sweet made out of maida and soaked in sugar syrup.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. All purpose flour 1 1/2 cup.
  2. Soft butter 4 tbsp.
  3. Castor sugar 1/2 tesp.
  4. Baking soda 1/4 tesp.
  5. Oil 1 tbsp.
  6. Water 4 tbsp.
  7. Oil or ghee to fry.
  8. For Syrup
  9. 1 cup sugar.
  10. 1 1/4 cup water.
  11. Saffron few strands.
  12. Lemon juice 1/2 tesp.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add flour,butter,oil,soda and sugar.
  2. Mix them to form crumbs.
  3. Add water little by little and knead for 10 minutes to a soft dough.
  4. Keep it covered for 15 minutes.
  5. In a vessel add water and sugar ,place on medium flame.
  6. Once the sugar melts,let it boil for 5 minutes.
  7. Add saffron strands and lemon juice,switch of the flame.
  8. Make lemon sized balls out of the dough,roll smooth without cracks.
  9. Make a dint with your thumb on each ball.
  10. Place a shallow pan with ghee or oil on medium low flame.
  11. Once hot reduce it to low flame.
  12. Slip in the badusha,few at a time,cook on low flame golden brown on both sides.
  13. Remove and drop into the sugar syrup,let soak for 5 minutes.
  14. Remove and place on a plate.
  15. Repeat this with the remaining pieces.
  16. Soft yummy badusha is ready to serve.
