ABOUT Apple Payesh / Apple Kheer / Apple Payasam RECIPE

Apple Payesh or Apple Kheer or Apple Payasam is a dessert preparation, where Apple has been used as a main ingredients. Many a time, kids as well as adults do not want to eat apple. But Apple, as a fruit, is a very good option for health. And with this preparation, kids and adults, cannot say no to Apple. It can be eaten as a Dessert or any other time.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 medium sized Apple
  2. 500 ml of Milk
  3. 1/2 cup of Condensed Milk; we have used Milkmaid
  4. 2 tablespoon of Sugar, or more if you want to have it more sweet
  5. 6-8 pieces of Cashew Nut
  6. 12-15 pieces of Kismis
  7. 4-5 pieces of Green Cardamom
  8. Water

Instructions

  1. First, we need to prepare the Apple. Peel off the skin of the Apple. Now cut it into small dice like pieces.
  2. Heat a pan in low flame, add 2 tablespoon of sugar and 4 tablespoon of water.
  3. When the sugar started to dissolve, add all the small pieces of Apple and stir it continuously for 3-4 minutes. Apple will start to change color from white to red or brown. Take out the apple pieces and keep it aside.
  4. Now, take a deep vessel and heat it in medium flame. Pour the 500 ml of milk in it.
  5. After 2-3 minutes, when the milk is started to getting warmer, add the condensed milk in it, and stir continuously.
  6. At this point, add Green Cardamom, Kismis and Cashew Nuts. Stir continuously for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Now let the milk boil for another 20-25 minutes in low flame. Now take out the milk from heat and keep it aside and bring it to room temperature.
  8. The milk should be dense in nature.
  9. Add all the caramelized Apple pieces in it and stir it softly.
  10. Apple Payesh or Apple Kheer or Apple Payasam is ready. Now put it in a refrigerator and serve it cold.
