Ingredients to make Getei Atakali

  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 glass water
  • Bayleaves 2 nos
  • 4 no crushed cardamom
  • sugar according to the taste
  • salt to the taste
  • baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • ghee 1 tbsp
  • Shredded coconuts 1 cup
  • Soaked rice 250 gm
  • Soaked black gram lentil 100 gm

How to make Getei Atakali

  1. MILK 500ML,SOAKED RICE 250GM, SOAKED BLACK GRAM LENTIL 100GM,SUGAR AS PER TASTE,SHREDDED COCONUTS 1CUP,GHEE 1 TBSP,BAY LEAF2,CARDAMOM 4,PINCH OF SALT & PINCH OF BAKING SODA
  2. IN A HEAVY BOTTOM PAN ADD 1GLASS OF WATER,PINCH OF SALT,BAY LEAF,&CRUSHED CARDAMOM,
  3. MAKE A FINENSMOOTH OF RICE&BLACKGRAM LENTIL, THEN ADD SALT & BAKING SODA & MIX IT NICELY,
  4. IN A BOILING WATER ADD GHEE & MIX IT
  5. WHEN THE WATER IS STARTED BOILING ,THEN DROP THE RICE,LENTIL BATTER IN A SMALL BATCHES INTO
  6. COOK IN MEDIUM FLAME,& SEE THE DUMPLINGS ARE FLOATING ON THE WATER,
  7. WHEN IT'S COOKED PROPERLY THEN STRAIN INTO THE BOILING WATER,
  8. NOW IN THIS BOILED WATER ADD MILK,SUGAR
  9. SHREDDED COCONUTS & MIX NICELY
  10. AFTER FEW MINUTES WHEN THE MILK BOILED ADD ALL THE COOKED RICE,LENTIL DUMPLINGS IN THE MILK
  11. COOK IN MEDIUM FLAME
  12. WHEN THE MILK GET THICKENED SWITCH OFF THE FLAME
  13. IT'S CONSISTENCY IS SEMI THICK,ITS TASTE & FLAVOUR IS DEVINE,AROMA ALSO VERY NICE.
