ABOUT Pal Kozhukattai RECIPE

Pal kozhukattai is a sweet dish made dumplings from rice flour in Coconut milk.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/4 cup milk
  2. 1/2 cup water
  3. 1/2 cup rice flour
  4. 1/2 tblspn ghee
  5. 1 cup coconut thin milk
  6. 1 cup coconut thick milk
  7. 1 1/2 tbspn jaggery
  8. 1/2 tspn sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Take a heavy bottom pan.
  2. Add half cup of milk, water and salt.
  3. Keep stirring by adding rice flour and ghee into it.
  4. Keep on stirring so that lumps donot get formed.
  5. While stirring when it gets thickened and turns into a dough, switch off the flame.
  6. Now transfer it to the bowl and add 2 tbspn sesame oil in it.
  7. Make it a soft dough and after that cover it so that it may not get dry.
  8. Now to make balls, grease your palms and make tiny balls of the dough.
  9. Now take a heavy bottom pan and heat the thin coconut milk.
  10. When it starts boiling add the half of the balls into it.
  11. When the balls starts floating then add rest of the balls in it.
  12. Stirr continously so that it may not get burnt from the bottom.
  13. When the Coconut milk gets thickened then add jaggery in it.
  14. Let it boil and stirr it continously.
  15. Now add thick Coconut milk and stirr it.
  16. At last switch off the flame.
  17. Now its ready to serve.
