ABOUT Patisapta RECIPE

This is a traditional Bengali sweet made with stuffed coconut or mawa and wrapped with a batter of all purpose flour and semolina. It is very common among Bongs and very regularly practiced in all bong kitchens.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 cups of maida
  2. 1/2 cup of semolina
  3. 2 cups of water
  4. coconut grated 2-3 cups
  5. 2-3 cardamom
  6. sugar 1 cup
  7. 2-3 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Sauté the coconut in pan with sugar and crushed cardamoms for 10 minutes stirring continuously. Keep aside.
  2. Now in a mixing bowl, make a smooth batter with all purpose flour, semolina and water
  3. Now heat a non stick tawa and brush ghee on it. Pour a spoonful of batter in the tawa and spread it evenly
  4. Let it cook for 2 minutes in medium heat and put 2 tablespoon of coconut stuffing in it and roll it little by little
  5. Fold it and press it with light hands
  6. Take it out from the pan and serve hot.
