Ingredients to make Oats Makhana Rabri

  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup makhana
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon elachi powder
  • 4-5 almonds, cashew nuts
  • 4-5 pistas
  • 4-5 raisins
  • 2 tablespoon ghee

How to make Oats Makhana Rabri

  1. Soak raisins in water and chop them.
  2. In heavy bottom pan, dry roast oats and keep them aside.
  3. In same pan, add ghee and add almonds and cashew nuts and fry them and keep aside.
  4. In same pan, add makhana and roast them for 1-2 minutes till they turn golden brown.
  5. Take them out. Keep aside 2-3 makhana for garnish and then grind the rest of them
  6. In other pan, boil milk and keep on boiling it till it reduces to half.
  7. Then add oats, grinded makhanas, sugar and mix it.
  8. Cook it for another 5-10 minutes till it starts to get thicken.
  9. Add pistas, riasins, elachi powder and mix it well.
  10. Turn off flame and let it cool at room temperature.
  11. Once it gets cool, then refrigerate it.
  12. Garnish with makhanas, cashew nuts, raisins and serve cool. We can also serve when its hot.
