About Madeleine Recipe

Madeleine is a traditional Lorraine cake the state which is situated in France.It is in Shell shaped or Elongated


Ingredients to make Madeleine

  • Unsalted butter -125 Gram + For greasing,At room temperature
  • eggs - 2
  • sugar -100 gram
  • all purpose flour - 100 gram
  • almond powder -20 gram
  • Vanilla extract -1 tsp
  • baking soda -1/4 tsp
  • Baking powder -1/2 tsp

How to make Madeleine

  1. *Sift the All purpose flour,baking soda & baking powder for atleast thrice.Preheat the oven at 210 °C.Grease the Madeleine with butter and keep ready.
  2. In a bowl beat the butter until it turns pale colour.Now add theSugar and eggs at a time and beat well.
  3. Add Sifted flour and almond powder little by little.Dont beat it ,mix it with spatula.Finally add the vanilla extract and give a good mix.Then immediately fill the batter 2/3 rd of the mould .
  4. Bake it for 6- 8 mins .If you insert the toothpick it comes out clean.Then cool it completely and unmold the madeleine .Serve it with cup of Chai.

My Tip:

For perfect result go with the ingredients in gram.
