ABOUT Classic Hawaiian butter mochi RECIPE

Most of the baking goods involve butter in them..but what makes these butter mochi unique? It is the texture and look. soft and smooth as butter that you got no idea how much pieces swirl in your mouth. Even though the original uses mochiko flour (less glutinous rice flour) to which i have changed it to south indian cooked flour which gave equally awesome results

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cooked rice flour or mochiko flour 1 1/2cup
  2. 3/4cup sugar
  3. Milk 1/2cup
  4. butter 3tbsp
  5. Baking powder 3/4tsp
  6. egg one whole + one egg white
  7. coconut milk 1cup
  8. Vanilla Essence 1tsp
  9. coconut oil 1/2tsp


  1. Take two bowls
  2. Preheat oven to 180c
  3. Mix the dry ingredients i.e flour and baking powder
  4. In another bowl mix egg and sugar
  5. Then add milk and mix well
  6. Followed by melted butter mix to incorporate well
  7. Add coconut milk,vanilla essence,coconut oil
  8. Add the dry ingredients to wet mix
  9. Grease and line eight inch pan with parchment paper
  10. Pour the mix till one and half inch...if any excess mix pour in separate baking pan
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for one hour . Check it's done. Cool and cut into pieces.
  12. Soft healthy cake it is :)
