Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Hilsa fish - 7 pieces
  2. Black mustard seed - 25 gm
  3. Garlic - 2 cloves
  4. Green chilli - 4 to 5
  5. Dry Red Chilli - 2
  6. Curd - 2 tspn
  7. Salt
  8. Turmeric powder - 1 tspn
  9. Mustard oil
  10. Chopped coriander leaves
  11. Paanchforan

Instructions

  1. Prepare a fine paste of the mustard seed, little salt, garlic and green chilli
  2. Apply salt and turmeric powder in the fish and shallow fry in mustard oil
  3. Remove excess oil from the pan and leave little oil
  4. Now add paanchforan, dry red chilli and stir
  5. Now add the mustard paste, salt, turmeric powder, curd and stir a little.
  6. When oil starts seperating add 1 and half cup water
  7. When the water starts boiling add the fried fish pieces and simmer the gas
  8. Remove the pan from flame after 4 minutes.
  9. From top add mustard oil, chopped green chilli , chopped coriander and cover the pan for few minutes.
  10. Serve hot with plain rice
