ABOUT Puliyogare RECIPE

It is a south indian traditional rice preparation which is used in lunch and even in lunch box ,tiffin also.It is called puliyodarai,pulihora,puliyogare,or simply tamarind rice which is a traditional dish of Andhra Pradesh,Telangana,Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.tamarind,jaggery,peanuts,seasme seeds are key ingredents of this delicacy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 cup cooked rice
  2. 1 small ball of tamarind
  3. 2 tbsp jaggery
  4. 1/2 cup peanuts
  5. 3 tbsp puliyogare powder
  6. 1 tbsp oil
  7. 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  8. 1/4 tsp hing
  9. 1 tbsp chana daal
  10. 10 curry leaves
  11. 2 dry red chilli
  12. Salt as per taste
  13. 1 tbsp seasme seeds

Instructions

  1. Soak tamarind ball in water
  2. And sieve it
  3. Add jaggery in water and cook till dissolve
  4. Sieve it and keep aside
  5. Heat kadhai and add tamarind paste
  6. Add jaggery in it and cook till little thick
  7. Add salt,hing and puliyogare powder and mix
  8. In other pan for tadka heat oil
  9. Add mustard seeds and red chilli
  10. Add peanuts and chana daal
  11. Roast them and add curry leaves
  12. And sesame seeds on low heat
  13. Turn off gas
  14. Add tadka in tamarind paste
  15. Add boiled rice and mix properly
  16. Serve hot with curd
