This traditional recipe is favourite for every bengalis from kolkata.the combination of vegetables, peanuts and spices makes a perfect delicious crunchy snack.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2cups of mixed and chopped vegetables( beetroot, cauliflower, carrot, potatoes,beans)
  2. 3-4tbsp maida
  3. 1tsp panchforon
  4. 1bay leaf
  5. 1pinch hing
  6. 1tsp ginger paste
  7. 2tbsp peanuts
  8. 1tbsp green chillies chopped
  9. 1tbsp fried masala( cumin and red chilli )
  10. oil for deep fry
  11. Breadcrumbs
  12. Salt and sugar to taste


  1. Heat oil in a pan, fry peanuts and keep it aside.
  2. Fry cauliflower and keep it aside.
  3. In the same pan ,add panchforon,bay leaf, hing.mix well.
  4. Now add mixed vegetables and all the spices,green chillies,ginger paste,peanuts.
  5. Add some water so that the vegetables gets done.cook it until the water gets dry.
  6. Now make a shape with this mixture.
  7. Coat it with maida and breadcrumbs.
  8. Deep fry it and serve it with hot tea.
