Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Split urad dal 1/2 cup
  2. Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Peppercorns 1/ 4 teaspoon
  7. Oil 2 teaspoon
  8. Dry red chilli 2
  9. Water 1 1/2 Cup
  10. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take a Kadai dry roast Dal for few minutes until you can smell the aroma.
  2. Keep it aside and let it cool.
  3. Once it is cooled down ,grind the roasted Dal to a fine powder.
  4. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a heavy bottom kadai
  5. To it add dry chillies and all the dry masala powders and 4 tablespoon of water and fry for a minute.
  6. Add powderd dal and the remaining water to it. Mix it well.
  7. Cook on medium to low flame stirring occasionally for 20 to 30 minutes.
  8. Once it is done ,switch off the flame and serve hot with steamed rice.
  9. Traditional Uttarakhand split black gram chainsoo is ready.
