About Potato Vada/Aloo Vada Recipe

With usual spices and cooked,mashed potatoes makes this incredible looking crispy vadas. Vadas we usually make with dals but this vada is seriously very easy when compared to those vadas with dals.

Potato Vada/Aloo Vada

Ingredients to make Potato Vada/Aloo Vada

  • 2 potatoes (cooked and mashed)
  • 2 tbsp maida
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 garlic clove (chopped finely)
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Few coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

How to make Potato Vada/Aloo Vada

  1. Take the mashed potatoes, chopped onions, chopped green chillies, chopped garlic, fennel seeds, cumin seeds and chopped coriander leaves in a bowl.
  2. Add the flour and salt, mix everything well. Heat oil for deep frying, meanwhile make small sized vadas or patties from the mixture.
  3. Once the oil is hot, drop the vadas one by one. Fry them on both sides until they turn golden brown.
  4. Remove it and drain the excess of oil with a paper towel. Enjoy with ketchup.
